Pattern Updates

We know how frustrating it can be when a knitting project runs into problems. If we become aware of an error in one of our patterns, an instruction that's confusing, a discontinued yarn or just a piece of helpful advice, here's where we'll post it. Just click on the relevant cover.

Adriana

We've been notified of an error to the cable border on the sleeve of this cardigan

The instructions within the squared brackets are the wrong way round.

Row 2 should read: k1(1,1,2) [p5, k3] three times, p5, k1(1,1,2)

Row 3 should read: p1(1,1,2) [k5, p3] three times, k5, p1(1,1,2)

Also, can we just remind readers about the note within the 'Measurements and sizes' panel asking you to refer to actual measurements given as these are a more accurate guide than the dress sizes.

Thanks to reader Christine Cooper for her help with sorting out these problems.

verticals

We're discovering from readers contacting us that there appear to be numerous problems with the pattern for these socks, which was reproduced as supplied to us from the book Socks by Chrissie Day.

The socks are worked in reverse stocking stitch throughout, so on Row 1 all stitches should be purl, and on Row 68(72, 76) the leg stitches should be worked in st st not garter stitch

There is a discrepancy in the number of rows worked when you come to complete the toe. After row 31 (33, 35) you are asked to work eight rows, which takes you to row 39 (41, 43), not the row count stated.

Apologies to our readers for these errors. If you find any further problems please don't hesitate to contact us.
