Hot Stuff
Cuddle up with Demetrius and Persephone, his ‘n’ hers hot water bottle cosies from Sian Brown
When the nights draw in and it's cold and frosty outside, there's nothing better than snuggling up on the sofa in your pjs and slippers, clutching a hot water bottle and tucking into a yummy box of chocs. These stylish cosies are ideal for making your hottie even more huggable, and the two different designs make a lovely his and hers set. Due to the chunkiness of the yarn, each of these covers knits up really quickly so would be an ideal gift and could easily be ready in time for the really chilly weather.

Crossing over
This project features a variety of textured effects. Bobbles and cables are quite common, but twisted and crossed stitches are less so. Twisted stitches are worked in a similar way to cables but purl stitches are added to create the different effect. However, crossed stitches can be tricky if you’ve never done them before. Insert the RH needle into the second stitch (front or back as instructed) on the LH needle, wrap the yarn around and pull it through the stitch as if to knit, but do NOT slip it off the needle. Now manoeuvre the RH needle around and insert it into the front of the first stitch on the LH needle. Knit this as normal then slip both stitches off the LH needle. The first and second stitches have now been crossed over. You may want to practice this several times to get a neat result.
