British Knitting Awards 2016

We are pleased to announce the finalists
of the British Knitting Awards 2016

Back in March 2016 Let’s Knit and Let’s Get Crafting magazines invited readers and online visitors to nominate their favourites across several categories; a shortlist was then compiled from the nominations and voters were asked to choose the winners. After two months of voting the polls were closed and the results announced in both magazines to coincide with The Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace, where there was also a fantastic presentation ceremony. Let’s Knit Editor, Sarah Neal says: “These awards are recognised across the industry as the highest of accolades because they are voted for entirely by the knitting public.”

The final list of winners rewards companies large and small. Small local knitting shops also continue to be recognised, with seven regional categories for Best Independent Store plus a special award for Best Yarn Shop Day Experience 2016. Other categories include Best Knitting Designer, Best Luxury Yarn Brand and Best Knitting Blog along with awards for shows, books, online services and knitting accessories.

Overall these awards offer the knitting community a fantastic opportunity to voice their preferences and communicate this to all the people who work so hard to provide and create their experiences, materials and inspiration.
