Wool Week

This is a countrywide celebration of wool, with the wide host of activities set to to take place making it the most memorable year yet. Campaign for Wool hopes this week will showcase the best wool has to offer across fashion and interiors, including a knitted BnB and an exclusive Ganny Lock pattern from Baa Baa Brighouse. Sew Saturday
When: 15th
Where: Countrywide
Sew Saturday is a celebration of the independent fabric store and haberdasher, it’s a way of showing some love for your local bricks and mortar stores. There will be a variety of events happening across the country, ranging from star appearances from leading names in the industry, to workshops.

Wear Something Woolly Day
When: 19th
Where: Countrywide
Organised to raise money for the Big Issue Foundation, this enjoyable event’s only requirement is that you wear something woolly (as you may have guessed by the name). Pay only £1 to take part, and help raise money for the charity’s hard-working vendors who are rebuilding their lives.

Burscough Fibre Festival
When: 30th
Where: Grove youth and Community centre in Burscough 
In support of Queen’s Court Hospice, this event features a range of sellers from independent spinners, to local shops selling lines including James C. Brett and Opal. They’re also hosting a fibre competition with the theme of ‘Halloween’. The winning entry is set to recieve gift cards or yarn, so it’s always worth getting involved.
